Synopsis: Jennifer Garner stars as Riley North, a young mother who is thrust into a pit of despair when her family is tragically eradicated in a retaliatory act taken by a drug dealer. Unbeknownst to her, her husband got roped into drug running temporarily in order to help the family make ends meet. The movie then very much takes on a Lady Punisher vibe.
What we thought: to be honest with you, we didn’t think much either good or bad. Captain Gimpy was satisfied with seeing Jennifer Garner and another movie, and Zen Burro was equally satisfied with seeing the Lady Punisher scenario unfold. The action was pretty well shot, the pace of the movie kept us both engaged for what it was. Overall, it was an enjoyable time.
What Could’ve Been Better: all of the negative things you’ve heard from other reviewers regarding this film are probably true. The problem is, we didn’t really care when we saw this movie. Looking back on it, there was nothing novel to the story. The plot was totally predictable. And the minor characters didn’t add much to the story whatsoever.
Verdict: If you are in the mood from mindless action movie that is just there to entertain you for a bit of fun, we definitely recommend it. If you like The Punisher for the action sequences, we definitely recommend this movie. If you like Jennifer Garner, and would watch her in anything… We would recommend this movie. If you or anyone else, you might want to look elsewhere
